Lightfastness
Almost all colours are lightfast and carry the symbols +, ++ or +++. A number of very special colours carry the symbol o: the reflex colours and a few very bright colours (357 rose, 362 dark rose, 536 violet, 545 red violet, 548 blue violet). Because of the special combination of pigments these colours fade if exposed to daylight for a number of weeks. Works in which these colours are used are therefore best kept in folders.
+++ = highest degree of lightfastness
++ = good lightfastness
+ = low degree of lightfastness
° = not lightfast
Bleeding colours
The letter B following a number of colours (357 rose, 362 deep rose, 536 violet, 545 red violet, 548 blue violet) indicates that these colours have a tendency to "bleed" through the coat covering them. Opaque White Extra (106) seals bleeding colours and was specifically developed for that purpose. Apart from that, bleeding colours should not be varnished, as they bleed through the layer of varnish!

Metallic colours
The selection includes five splendid metallic colours: silver, light gold, dark gold, copper and bronze. Talens uses very modern pigments to make them. This means that oxidation, a green patina over the colours, is now a thing of the past. If you mix metallic colours with other colours from the range the metallic effect is lost! Of course the metallic colours can be mixed with each other.

GOUACHE EXTRA FINE QUALITY

Talens Gouache Extra Fine is a high quality product, which meets the highest standards that can be set. It is no accident that this paint enjoys worldwide popularity.

Talens Gouache Extra Fine is easy to apply and work with and dries in a few minutes. It adheres to any grease-free and porous ground such as paper and board, but also to wood, plaster and earthenware. This makes the colour suitable for various purposes such as making gouaches (tempera paintings), wet-on-wet working, applying the paint without brush strokes, but also stencilling, stamping and printing. Thinning with water gives watercolour-like effects. Once dry, the work has an attractive velvety mat finish.

Tubes
All 60 colours are available in 20 ml tubes.
White and Black intenso are also available in larger 60 ml tubes.

Bottles
50 colours (45 + 5 reflex) are available in handy 16 ml bottles with a screw top closure. 45 colours are also available in 50 ml bottles.

10 commonly used colours (including the 3 primary mixing colours) are available in a value for money dispenser bottle of 250 ml. This bottle is stackable and can be turned upside down, so that all the paint can be used. The top has an adjustable small opening for easy application.

ASSORTMENT SETS
Various attractive sets are available. From a basic set to a de luxe box. The so-called Mixing Colour Sets deserve a separate mention. These are specially geared to use in colour theory. Mixing Colour Set 5 tubes
Contains the 3 primary colours (lemon yellow, magenta and cyan) plus white and black. This set is suitable for use with the 3-colour mixing system. The set contains 5 tubes of 20 ml.

Mixing Colour Set 8 tubes
Besides the 3 primary colours (lemon yellow, magenta and cyan) contains the 3 secondary colours (yellow, vermilion and ultramarine deep) plus white and black. This set is suitable for use with the 6-colour mixing system. With the addition of the 3 secondary colours it is also possible to make pure mixed shades in the orange and violet area of the spectrum. The set contains 8 tubes of 20 ml.
