Lightfastness
+++ = highest degree of lightfastness (70 colours, lightfast for a minimum of 150 years under museum lighting, ASTM class I).
++ = good lightfastness (5 colours, lightfast for a minimum of 75 years under museum lighting, ASTM class II).
The lightfastness of all colours has been tested in accordance with ASTM standards D4303 and D5098.

Transparency/opacity

= transparent (22 colours)

= semi-transparent (10 colours)

= semi-opaque (19 colours)

= opaque (24 colours)

Rembrandt Artist Quality Acrylic Colours have a buttery consistency, which is pleasant to work with; particularly in their unthinned state brush strokes are retained when painted. The latest technological developments in the field of pigments are incorporated into the manufacture of the Artist Quality Acrylic paint. Maximum colour intensity is obtained by grinding the paint on a traditional triple roller. In addition only the best binders are used, thus creating a very durable paint film. The paint film is so flexible that dried canvases can be rolled up without any problem.

SPECIAL COLOURS IN THE RANGE
The balanced range of 75 colours contains both classic and modern colours. The most notable special colours are:

Cadmium colours
Rembrandt Artist Quality Acrylic Colours include cadmium colours, which are less harmful to humans and the environment. In addition, the range includes cadmium substitute pigments under the pigment names azo and naphthol, which are also very lightfast. These colours are less expensive and a little less opaque.

Transparent iron oxides
These four colours stand out because of their extreme transparency. Even when heavily diluted with medium they remain extremely stable and lightfast. Hence their popularity for glazing techniques. In all, there are 16 colours, which are ideally suited to glazing work.

Synthetic earth pigments
The newest synthetic earth colours are used for Rembrandt Acrylic Colours. In contrast to the natural pigments used in the past, these pigments are very stable.

Metallic and pearlescent colours
Metallic and pearlescent colours are included in the range to help you achieve more contemporary effects.

PACKAGING
All 75 colours Rembrandt Artist Quality Acrylic are available in 40 ml tubes. The 40 most frequently used colours are available in 150 ml tubes for professional use. Also, 24 colours are available in a 500 ml plastic bottle.
